I started doing collage about 11 years ago after taking weekend workshop at Art in the Loft. I fell in love with working with so many different elements and putting them together to create images. I enjoy working with the colors and textures and building layers on top of layers.
 I pull from many sources; maps, dictionaries, cookbooks, vintage magazine advertising, royalty free images, rubber stamps, scrap booking papers, old newspapers, telephone books, vintage erotica, sewing patterns, as well as old keys, game pieces and other oddities.
 Sometimes I start with a plan, but other times I will start with my background and something will catch my attention and then I start putting things together to built from that one thing, often it is a word from a dictionary page(as that is often my background).
 My pieces are oddities and curious, on the surface they are one, but as you look into it and start exploring the background and layers more comes to the surface and makes the image all that more interesting.
 Generally, the frames are up-cycled or resale shop finds. The frames sometimes have flaws, but that adds intentional character to the artwork.
