After owning and operating a Wild bird and Nature Store in Sterling Heights for several years, my husband Jeff and I moved to Harrisville in 2005. I began to photograph what I call gifts from God. In 2009 I became a member of the Dragonfly Art Gallery in Harrisville and in 2011 a member of the Thunder Bay Art Council Gallery in Alpena. Both galleries provided me the opportunity to share my art work with the community. In 2010 I was juried into the St. Joseph Hospital art show in Tawas, where I received an honorable mention on my photo THE KISS. In 2012 and 2013 I enrolled into a photography class at the Alcona Art Retreat at Lost Lake Woods. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 I participated in art shows in Presque Isle and Harrisville. In 2016 I entered the Juried Art Show for the Besser Museum where I was chosen for a People’s Choice Award for my photo THE KISS.
I have been documenting the behavior of a pair of Barred Owls that have been raising young on our property for 7 years, and I’m planning on writing a photo journal of the owls. My photos are authentic, never photoshopped unless specified. |
