4H Earth Day Art: Creative Critters
In celebration of Earth Day and all of the natural beauty that surrounds us....
We have a fun and unique evening planned for 4H participants here at Art in the Loft.
Join us on Earth Day, April 22nd at 5:30pm for an evening of environmental education, creativity and sustainability.
Visual artists Lane Blair Olsen will guide students through the 5 principals of recycling (while enjoying a sustainable snack), all before creating their own creative critters made from recycled materials.
Students will design, craft and create dimensional portraits of their favorite animal(s) by transforming discarded or typically unwanted materials into NEW inspirational works of art. Once formed, students will utilize acrylic paint, collage papers and paint markers to add impact while further personalizing their pieces. From egg cartons, cereal boxes, cardboard and beyond... where will your creativity take you?
In addition to our evening of upcycled art, Meag Schwartz, president & founder of Great Lakes Great Responsibility will be joining us after a Downtown Earth Day clean up to make a special appearance with all of you. Sharing more about GLGR, marine debris, micro plastics and how we can all help keep our fresh water clean.
An evening of environmental education, creativity and sustainability you wont want to miss!
